THE OPTIONSXPO 2007 SWEEPSTAKES (the "Sweepstakes")
2007 OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.

THE SWEEPSTAKES IS OPEN ONLY TO INDIVIDUALS 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER WHO ARE LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES OR DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA ("D.C.") EXCLUDING NEW YORK, FLORIDA, AND PUERTO RICO. VOID OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES AND WHERE PROHIBITED.

  1. HOW TO ENTER: You may enter the Sweepstakes in one of the following three methods: (1) being automatically entered when you register for OPTIONSXPO 2007 on line (between 12:00:01 a.m. CST on September 21 and 11:59:59 p.m. CST on October 24, 2007) ("Internet Entry"); (2) entering in-person at OPTIONSXPO 2007 held at 301 East North Water Street, Chicago, Illinois 60611 between 8:00:00 a.m. CST and 5:00:00 p.m. CST on October 25, 2007 ("OPTIONSXPO Entry"); or (3) submitting a mail-in entry by writing your name, home address, daytime phone number, and email address on a 3" x 5" index card and mailing it to: The optionsXpo 2007 Sweepstakes, C/o optionsXpress, Inc., P.O. Box 2197 Chicago, IL 60690-2197 ("Mail-In Entry"). Mail-in Entries must be postmarked by October 19, 2007 and received by optionsXpress, Inc. by October 24, 2007. INDIVIDUALS MUST CHOOSE ONE OF THE THREE METHODS OF ENTRIES LISTED ABOVE AND CAN ONLY ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKES ONCE. Only natural persons can enter the Sweepstakes. Internet Entries will be deemed made by the individual registered to attend OPTIONSXPO. The individual must also be the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry, which is defined as the person who is assigned to the email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. If more than one entry is received from or on behalf of the same individual, all entries received from the individual (including the associated e-mail address, if applicable) will be disqualified.

    Entries become the property of optionsXpress, Inc. ("Sponsor") and will not be acknowledged or returned. Proof of submission is not proof of receipt by Sponsor. Entries made through any robotic, automatic, mechanical, programmed or similar entry duplication method are ineligible and will be disqualified. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for lost, late, damaged, mutilated, misdirected, illegible or incomplete entries or for computer system, hardware, software, network, program or other damage, errors or failures of any kind, whether human or technical in nature, that may arise from or in connection with participation in this Sweepstakes, or in the transmission or receipt of on-line entries. Any entries not in conformance with these Official Rules will be disqualified.

  2. ELIGIBILITY: Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the United States and D.C. excluding New York, Florida and Puerto Rico who are 21 years of age or older at time of entry. Void outside the United States and District of Columbia and wherever prohibited. Employees of Sponsor and its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, exhibitors, presenters and sponsors of the optionsXpo 2007, Sweepstakes judges, and members of the immediate families (defined as spouses, parents, children and siblings; whether such family members are biological, adoptive, step or in-law) of such employees and those living in the same household of such employees are not eligible to enter or win.

  3. DRAWINGS: Winners will be determined in one random drawing to be conducted on or about October 26, 2007 by an independent judging organization, whose decisions will be final in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Winners will be announced at the optionsXpo 2007. Odds of winning will be determined by the number of eligible entries received.

  4. PRIZES/APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES: One (1) Grand Prize and thirteen (13) remaining prizes will be awarded. One winner will be selected for the Grand Prize: 2 international business class round trip United Airlines airline tickets from major airport nearest winner’s home which is serviced by United Airlines to anywhere United Airlines flies worldwide (Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): $20,000.00); One winner will be chosen for each of the following remaining prizes: (1) Spa package at a spa of your choice in a city near the winner’s residence (transportation to and from spa is the responsibility of the winner and specifically excluded) (ARV: $2,500.00); (2) iPod (40G Video) (ARV: $250.00); (3) iPhone (excluding service provider fees) (ARV: $300.00) ; (4) 2 domestic economy class round trip United Airlines airline tickets from major airport nearest winner’s home which is serviced by United Airlines to anywhere United Airlines flies in the continental United States (ARV: $5,000.00); (5) certificates for $250 for Restaurant.com (ARV: $250.00); (6) Dell — laptop Latitude D630 (ARV: $1,200.00); (7) Dinner at a restaurant in Chicago for up to three people with Ned Bennett in a city near the winner’s residence (transportation to and from dinner is the responsibility of the winner and specifically excluded), subject to his availability on a date not later than October 1, 2008 (ARV: $500.00); (8) optionsXpress coaching package detailed at http://www.optionsxpress.com/welcome/tour/educate/coaching.aspx (ARV of coaching package: $1,800.00); (9) a 1-yr subscription to Barron’s magazine (ARV: $200.00); (10) a 1 yr Wall Street Journal subscription (ARV: $249.00; (11) a 1 yr Active Trader subscription (ARV: $50.00); (12) a 1-yr Futures Magazine subscription (ARV: $50.00); (13) a SFO subscription (ARV: $50.00). Total actual retail value of all prizes: $ 32,149.1 Prizes are non-transferable except as provided herein or at the discretion of the Sponsor. Winners of the Grand Prize or the domestic airline tickets prize are responsible for meals, gratuities and all other expenses not specified herein. Sponsor reserves the right to structure travel destinations and routes, at its sole discretion. Each winner and guest must travel on same itinerary, and must take trip on designated dates. If winner is unable to travel on designated dates, prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner, time permitting. Actual value of Grand Prize and domestic airline tickets prize may vary based on point of departure and/or airfare fluctuations, and any difference between the stated approximate value and actual value of prize will not be awarded. No prize substitutions or cash redemptions, except Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if for any reason an advertised prize becomes unavailable or cannot be awarded as intended in these rules; and potential winners agree to such substitution as a condition of entry in this Sweepstakes. Limit one prize per person. Winners are responsible for payment of any income taxes on prizes under applicable federal, state and local laws. All prizes claimed will be awarded. Judges’ decisions are final in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes.

    Prizes are provided by Sponsor. The awarding of such prizes does not, and is not intended to, imply any sponsorship, affiliation, endorsement or association between the owners of the trademarks and Sponsor or the Sweepstakes.

  5. PRIZE NOTIFICATION/WINNER VERIFICATION: The potential winners will be notified in person, by phone, email and/or postal mail (at Sponsor’s sole discretion), and will be required to execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, liability and publicity release within seven (7) days of date printed on prize notification, or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected from all remaining eligible entries received. The Grand Prize Winner’s travel companion must sign and return a liability/publicity release within time frame specified by Sponsor. Winner’s travel companion may not be a minor unless winner is the parent or legal guardian of the travel companion. If travel companion is an eligible minor, in accordance with these rules, then winner must execute such documents on said companion’s behalf.

  6. GENERAL: By entering and/or accepting a prize, each entrant and/or winner, and travel companion for United Airlines tickets (a) agrees to release Sponsor and its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective employees, directors, officers, shareholders, agents, attorneys, successors or assigns (collectively "Releasees"), from any and all liability, loss or damage of any kind incurred with respect to participation in this Sweepstakes, the awarding, receipt, possession, and/or use or misuse of any prize (including but not limited to travel related thereto) ; and (b) consents to the use of his/her name, likeness, quotes and/or identity by Sponsor for advertising and publicity purposes in commerce and in any and all media worldwide without limitation, with no additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Releasees are not responsible for and are hereby released from liability with respect to: (i) electronic transmissions/entries that are lost, late, stolen, incomplete, illegible, damaged, garbled, destroyed, misdirected, or not received by the Sponsor or its agents for any reason, (ii) any problems or technical malfunctions, errors, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects, delays in operation or transmission, communication failures or human error that may occur in the transmission, receipt or processing of entries, or for destruction of or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries, (iii) failed or unavailable hardware, network, software or telephone, cable or satellite transmissions, damage to entrants’ or any person’s computer and/or its contents, or causes beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control that jeopardize the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes or (iv) any entries submitted in a manner that is not expressly allowed under these Official Rules. All incomplete or non-conforming entries will be disqualified. Releasees are further not responsible for and are hereby released from liability with respect to incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by Internet users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes or by any technical or human error which may occur in the transmission, receipt or processing of the entries. If for any reason this Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, or if this Sweepstakes or any Web site associated therewith (or any portion thereof) becomes corrupted or does not allow the proper playing of the Sweepstakes and processing of entries per these Official Rules, or if infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by entrants, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual implicated in such action, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Sweepstakes. In the event this Sweepstakes is cancelled, Sponsor reserves the right to conduct a random drawing to award the prizes from among all eligible, non-suspect, entries received prior to the time of the action or event warranting such cancellation. Sweepstakes is governed under Illinois law and all claims must be resolved in the state and/or federal courts in Cook County, Illinois.

  7. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY ANY SUCH PERSON AND SEEK DAMAGES FROM HIM/HER TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
